The University of Namibia (UNAM) is the largest and leading National institution of higher education in the country. It is a diverse institution with a student population from 43 countries and from all continents.
UNAM is one of the top African universities. During 2006, UNAM was rated as the best higher education institution in Namibia by the Professional Management Review of South Africa and won a Golden Arrow Award. The previous year the Geneva-based Foundation for Excellence in Business Practice nominated UNAM to be the recipient of the Foundation's Gold Medal for Excellence in Business Practice.
The operations of the OERu are well aligned with the University's vision and mission to ensure greater access to Higher Education and equity for students from various educational and social backgrounds.
