Western Pacific University

 

The Western Pacific University is located in the Ialibu-Pangia district of the Southern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. The University was established by Parliament through the Western Pacific University Act of 2014.

Western Pacific University aspires to advance knowledge through research, provide technical education, be a leader in technology and innovative industries, serving society by graduating conscientious and productive global citizens.

A unique feature of WPU is the Foundation Year Program which is a compulsory course of study for students seeking entry to the University's Bachelor's program which provides the foundational academic knowledge and skills for post-secondary study. It will be offered via online, blended, and face-to-face delivery. 

WPU will adopt the OERu's Learning in a Digital Age series of micro-courses for all learners and is committed to expanding OER-enabled courses for its curriculum. The first cohort of students will commence study in 2021.
