The OER Foundation is delighted to announce its first partner institute from Malaysia, Asia e University. AeU is a unique collaborative multinational university, leading Open and Distance Learning (ODL) in Malaysia, and is one of the top ODL institutions in Asia. AeU has made it their mission "to remove barriers that can limit access to Higher Education and make it more accessible, affordable and beneficial for learners." (https://aeu.edu.my/who/).

Penn State joins the OERu international innovation network

The OER Foundation is proud to welcome Penn State University to the OERu international innovation network. As Pennsylvania’s only land-grant university, Penn State has a broad mission of teaching, research, and public service. The OERu network offers Penn State another avenue to take its extension mission to a global audience.
In support of President Barron’s access and affordability imperative, the Penn State OER Task Force was established to explore OER adoption and creation at the University. One of the Task Force’s key recommendations was to join the OERu network to maximise programs for faculty development and OER sharing.

Chang School at Ryerson University becomes OERu’s first university partner from Ontario, Canada

The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University has joined OERu becoming the first teaching institution from Ontario, Canada to join the international network of partner institutes collaborating to provide more affordable education using open educational resources (OER).

OERu community source model receives major boost

To boost capacity for the OERu's community source model, the OER Foundation today announced the appointment of Dave Lane as its new Open Source Technologist. Mr Lane is currently the President of the New Zealand Open Source Society and brings 21 years of open source development and leadership experience to the OERu network.

NOUN leads open education in Nigeria by joining the OERu family

Today, the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) announced their decision to join the OERu network and claims the accolade of becoming the first West African university to join this international innovation partnership.

OERu at Open Education Global 2015

The Open Education Global Conference 2015 (OEGlobal) was hosted by OERu partner, Athabasca University in beautiful Banff, Alberta, Canada from 22-24 April, 2015. A number of OERu projects were featured on the conference agenda in addition to the meeting of the UNESCO OER Chairs.
OU joining OERu

The Open University is increasing access to Open University (OU) Open Educational Resources (OER) by joining the OERu (OER universitas). This is to coincide with the launch of The OU’s first Badged Open Courses (BOCs) on OpenLearn, the OU’s home of free online learning. The OERu provides members with options to host their open courses on the OERu platform or point to free courses on institution-hosted channels. The OERu platform, which reports access to 217,000 unique monthly visitors from around the world, will now link to the new Open University (OU) BOCs and open courses on OpenLearn over the coming months.
